Life Story

Hi!

I was born in Seattle, grew up and graduated high school in Walla Walla, Washington
Here is some background about my personal life

I attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.

I played on the golf team for the first year and a half

I got really into Geology

The coronavirus sucked

I did field work in Montana

I did a pretty cool thesis project

I graduated and moved to Seattle

Post-College

After college, I moved to Seattle.
This felt like a homecoming, despite not living here since the early years of the Obama Administration

I worked as a hydrogeologic consultant.

This was exciting for me because of the money, heath care, and relatedness to my undergraduate major.

I worked here for two years.

I got a bad concussion

I quit my job

I hung out all summer and recovered my health

I landed a job on a complete whim at the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology

Montana Life

I've revamped the website for my graduate school push to share my personal and professional experiences instead of sending you all canned, copied and pasted emails with my resume and why I'm interested in working with you.

As an undergraduate, I studied under Dr. Raymond Rogers at Macalester College where I wrote my honors thesis on the non-marine sequence stratigraphy of the Two-Medicine Formation.

After graduation, I moved to Seattle, Washington where I worked as a hydrogeology consultant at Associated Earth Sciences in Kirkland, WA

Currently, I work as a hydrogeologist for the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology where I collect field data for the statewide groundwater monitoring network and conduct research on the Fox Hills-Hell Creek and Clear Lake Aquifers in Eastern Montana.

Though my working experience has been in hydrogeology I am interested in pursuing a wide range of disciplines in graduate school. I am a passionate researcher and am eager to learn more about how our planet works!
i lived in Butte, Montana

Butte is a strange place. Here is a movie I made highlighting my time in Montana.

My work was awesome. I completed field work all across the state. did this that and the other thing

Then I managed to keep my job and move home to seattle. Working remotely and returnig for my field work quarterly.

I will work for the MBMG until my contract expires on June 30, 2025.
Hopefully a professor will read this, think I am a strong candidate and admit me to complete my graduate schooling under their mentorship in the fall of 2026.
